November 2018 is New Members Month
Our committee is looking to run November as Membership Month

Activities will include:
  1. Have Keith Quinn speak to the club on 19 November. Partners will be welcome. Only potential new members will be granted a meal cost waiver, not partners or friends who attend the dinner meeting on 19 November.
  2. To this end we have arranged a stand at the Riverbank Carpark, Saturday Market for 2 Saturdays in November (10th and 17th) leading up to the 19th November. Have hired the District Rotary Gazebo. We will be looking for volunteers to assist on the days for a couple of hours.  Hope to attract people to the tent by running a raffle, have a chicken wheel if we can get hold of one and perhaps run a “silly game” or two.  The aim is to attract people to join our club by inviting them along to our 19 November meeting. We hope to get sponsorship for the raffles and the chickens. At the tent we want to showcase projects that help the people of Lower Hutt:
-         Christmas raffle
-         Tree Planting
-         Duffy’s Books in Schools
-         Usborne Dictionaries

We need a chicken wheel - does anyone know where we can get a hold on one?  Obviously we are looking for any other ideas for activities to run in Membership month. We want all members to look-out for potential new members.

Finally, we are seeking approval from the Board to introduce a “Gold Star” system for members who introduce new members to the club in future. When they are inducted into the club the member will be presented with a gold star for their dinner badge.
