Recently seven of our club members and partners enjoyed a great time in the Abel Tasman National Park. The adventure began with a two hour scenic boat cruise from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui, followed by a 7km walk to our beachfront lodge at Awaroa (the largest estuary in the park).  Day 2 is spent at Awaroa with the options of kayaking, walking, swimming or simply relaxing.
On the third day we walked 20km (approx. 6 hours) to the next lodge in Torrent Bay. The walk is divided into 3 sections and you are able to opt for boat transfers if you don't wish to walk all of the track. The fourth day is again one of choices - walks (one with a higher degree of difficulty), kayaking in the lagoon or just chilling.  The final day is a more gentle walk of 16km to reach the finish at Marahau.  We were blessed with warm sunny days and everyone completed the walk free of any incidents or accidents along the way.  It was a great way to spend 5 days enjoying a stunning little slice of NZ.
