On Wednesday morning I had the pleasure to go to Rata St school for the distribution of this year's Duffy books. It was a first for me and what a great experience.

We started in the school hall with some songs and then gave out some books - the rest were given out back in the classroom.  One of the victorious Black Fern 7’s player, Lyric Faleafaga, who was this year's "Duffy Hero", addressed the school assembly.

After this I went back to Room 12 and gave them their books.  Each child got 2 books and there are 377 children at Rata St School.

I read them a story from one of the books and they all sat on the mat very quietly.  They were all so well-behaved and a credit to the school.  We all had our photo taken and then I left, telling them I'd be back next year.
