On 'End Polio Now' day, Ray and I were heading to Brisbane Airport after a short break in Surfers Paradise.  We took the opportunity to stop at SouthBank and meet my oldest brother David Goss.  He's a member of The Greater Springfield Rotary Club in District 9630 in Brisbane and they were also participating in an event that evening, "Riding The Train to End Polio" - as you can see by his t-shirt.

David was originally a member/president of Wainuiomata Rotaract in the late 80's then he joined the Wainuiomata Rotary Club where he was a very active member for several years before he moved to Kapiti in 1994 and joined Rotary there.  In 2008 he and the family moved to Brisbane and he became a member of The Greater Springfield Rotary Club so he has been a constant Rotary Family member for more than 30 years.

He met his wife Sandra in his Rotaract days when she was a member of Eastern Hutt Rotaract, and they celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary on 29th October.  Sandra recently joined the Goodna Rotary Club which is also in their neighbourhood and their second son James returned home in January this year after one year on the Rotary Exchange to Sweden.

David and Sandra are the District 9630 Youth Exchange Coordinators and have hosted many Rotary exchanges from several countries around the world.  They currently have Eleonora Zino from Rome, Italy, staying with them for 6 months while she goes to school in Springfield Lakes and learns about the Australian culture and lifestyle.  She will spend another 6 months with another Rotary family to complete her 12 month exchange.

As you can tell, my brother, sister-in-law, husband and I are totally dedicated to Rotary International and what it stands for, "Service Above Self".
