On Sunday, approximately 70 walkers turned up for the event.  The support from other Rotary Clubs was great and the intention is to have them more involved in the next walk. It was lovely seeing the purple clothes, purple hair, and purple balloons. Even a dog was dressed in a purple harness with a purple lead.  The band “Quite Some Company” were great and gave the event a really festive atmosphere.

Currently we have raised about $1,500 however a final figure should be available shortly.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of the “Walk for Mental Health” committee who took on the challenge of starting this initiative and took it through to delivery.  They did an amazing job.
Special thanks to the Rotary helpers who turned up on the day.  Thanks to the Wellington Army Cadets and Belmont Scouts who ran the barbeque and acted as marshals.  Also special thanks to Brian Klee and his granddaughter Phoenix, who were the official photographers for the event.  Phoenix also designed our stunning flyer - thank you so much.
Further thanks to our sponsors, The Tenths Trust and Pak 'n Save Petone; our speakers Tui Lewis and Vicki Hollywell; and to those who either made donations, or participated.  And again of course, our great band, "Quite Some Company".

I am so proud of what we have achieved.
