 Eastern Hutt's 2020 Changeover Evening
What a very memorable evening!  Led in by President, Robert Sinclair, a Scottish cord piped in the Haggis.  This was superbly orchestrated by Kevin Nelson, who then recited Robbie Burns' famous poem.

It was an evening to celebrate and recognise many of the Club's hard working members, but not before Robert thank his partner Helen for being so important to him during his Term as President - and the floral displays on all the tables!

Firstly, ably introduced by Jaye Howey, Kathy Bryant was made a Paul Harris Fellow - her background HERE.  Then to the thrill everyone, her father, former World Rotary President, Bill Boyd with his wife Lorna appeared through the door with the rest of Kathy's family.

Two other long serving members were also recognised with Sapphire Pin awards, Jaye Howey and Ron Hunter. Pride of Workmanship Awards with then presented to Secretary, David Thompson, Treasurer, Tony Cornelius and Brian Klee, as Bulletin Editor.

Other recognition awards were then presented to two Committees.  First to those responsible for the Walk for Mental Health initiative held for the first time this year, led by Shelley Bryant.  And the overall Committee Cup went to the Youth and Vocational Committee, led initially by Des Darby and then by Glenda Barratt.

Then it was time to pass over the chain of office.  President Robert invited incoming President Jan Palmer to take Eastern Hutt Rotary into the next year, after what will be remembered as a very difficult year coping with the challenges of Covid-19.  HERE is Jan's acceptance speech.

Congratulations to everyone who made this a fun an unforgettable evening.
