Community & Member Activity
Farewell to Wilhelmus Theodorus Johannes Maria (Wim) Julicher
Several members and partners travelled to Martinborough on Tuesday 1 November to attend the funeral service of our dearly loved colleague Wim.
There was a very large turnout to farewell Wim with mourners filling the church and the nearby hall.  Wim was clearly held in very high esteem by the Martinborough community.  He will be missed by many. Our thoughts are with Sue and family at this very, very sad time.

General Notices

* Entertainment Books
Over the last couple of years, it hasn’t really been worth buying an Entertainment book, because most of us haven’t been out to dinner or coffee, so it hasn’t been worth having one.  Now that we are able to go out and socialise, it is probably worth having one again.  Also, it could be useful to give one as a Christmas present.  Remember that they now last for a year, instead of just from June, to June the following year.
See Anne if you are interested in buying one, and she will help you to get started, even if you want the book for a different city from Wellington.

* Christmas Puddings
If you would like one or more, please see Anne with your order as soon as possible.  Last year they ran out before they had completed all the orders!!  They are $23 this year.

* Yarn/Wool Wanted
Do you have any wool (any type and in any state) lying around that you no longer want or can use?
Annette would love to hear from you. "We would love to have it so that we, The Naenae Knitting Natters, can continue to make baby and child items for Pregnancy Help, Foster Hope, the Red Cross Refugee Support Programme and local Primary Schools.  Our stocks are running low so if you can help with a donation we would be very grateful".

* Rotary is seeking applicants for the next RYLA course, to be held at Forest Lakes from 25 to 29th January 2023. Applicants should be aged between 18 and 24, and have leadership potential. Applications close on 15th November.  If you require further information speak to Robin Aitken.

Birthdays Coming Up:

* Christine Giles - 5 November
* Annie Matthews - 5 November

This Month's Anniversaries:

* No anniversaries in November
Parting Thought

Colin Fenton provided the parting thought at the end of the evening -

 “I am a great believer in luck and the harder I work the more I have of it." Thomas Jefferson

                                               and

"A penny saved is a penny earned." Benjamin Franklin
