Virtual Meetings Update:
Last Wednesday at 6pm, our group of Satellite Club aspirants met again, but this time via a Zoom session thanks to Justine Tupara.  Encouraged by President-Elect, Jan Palmer, and two other Club members, they were asked to share their thoughts on what they would like Eastern Hutt Rotary to be doing in it's local community at this time unprecedented need.

It's always very refreshing to hear from another generational group and they identified quite a number of organisations and ideas for us to consider.  In fact, there were upwards of 20 areas that were identified covering a variety of causes and businesses who could do with help either now or in the future.  We valued your input - thanks guys!

As we have done for the past few weeks, another 3 online Zoom sessions in clusters of less than 10, will be hosted today at 5pm by David, Tony & Brian.  Everyone whose engaged in them have been very positive and enjoyed their session.  Contact Secretary, David Thompson, if you'd like to join one of the groups.

Today's Thoughts:

President Robert had the pleasure on presenting this certificate to Tony Comparini on Thursday evening to forward to his Dad from the members of the Eastern Hutt Rotary.  Disappointing I was not able to acknowledged Dave in person but he and Tony are aware how much of an impact Dave has had on us all.
Our fondest thoughts are with Dave, his son Tony, and family, as he waits Wellington Hospital for a room at Te Omanga Hospice.

LIFE IN LOCKDOWN  14-4-20
It’s all happening around me but not to me, which is fine by me.  People are behaving badly , but I’m not among them, such a relief.  The long arm of the law has reached out to grab a number of people trying to make a run for freedom from Lockdown.  I sneakily admire such high jinx but is it really worth the bother?  I mean hiring lawyers and ruining your CV?
