Guest Speaker - Cynric Temple-Camp, Pathologist

On Monday 25 May we were honored to have Dr Cynric Temple-Camp speak to us about his work as a pathologist.  He is the CEO of Medlab Central in Palmerston North which he established for laboratories covering the lower North Island.  Throughout his career in Palmerston North, Cynric has been responsible for performing a host of autopsies investigating natural death, medical misadventure, accidents, and murder.

PRESSIES PIECE
A huge thank you once again to all those who helped with the collection for Te Omanga Hospice.  Jan was able to tell us the amount raised which was in excess of last year's figure.  What a wonderful success! It also goes to show that when the economy is taking a major nosedive, the hearts and compassion of the residents of our city, dig deeper to provide for those in need.

A Very Successful Wine Tasting Evening - Friday 22 May

Well we can all agree this was a tremendous success.  Thank you very much to the International Committee for all your hard work.  A special mention must be given to Sue Darling for arranging the wineries, June Stratton and Robyn Wheeler who worked tirelessly to make the event the success it was.  Please also thank your partners for their contributions.  Richard has received a number of gratifying tributes on your behalf.  We raised in excess of $3300 for The Life Light Trust.
Thank you so much to the wineries who came over from the Wairarapa to showcase their wines -

Thank You From Te Omanga Hospice

Below is a letter received from Te Omanga Hospice thanking us for our support with their annual street collection.  The amount raised this year is impressive considering the tough time folks are having at present with the state of the economy.  It is apparently more than was raised last year!

"Kia ora Jan and Eastern Hutt Rotary,
A huge thank you from everyone at Te Omanga Hospice.  Because of your commitment to our cause by organising your club members to collect donations at our recent Street Appeal, this has helped to raise an incredible $48,353.25.  We are so grateful for this and know it wouldn't have been possible without your support.
