Guest Speaker - Brock Shute, Mortgage Advice Company
Although born in Australia Brock is not a 501 but a good New Zealand citizen with a wife and three children.  After taking a B.Com. at Victoria University he had a career in finance before becoming self-employed and starting his own company.  He now employs four more mortgage advisers and some ancilliary staff.  In Australia 70% of mortgages are arranged through a broker and he is sure the same will soon apply here.

* Good in the Hood
I have been approached by Bowel Cancer NZ to ask if I know of anyone who would be prepared to volunteer for an hour or two next week at Z Petone or Z Hutt Rd for "Good in the Hood".  Z chooses local groups who are doing good in the community and customers who purchase petrol at their service station vote for one of the selected organisations. The winning charity receives a share of the million dollars Z is giving away. The volunteers will be supplied with a teeshirt and BCNZ will pay mileage. Your role will be to encourage customers to vote for BCNZ.  If you are interested can you contact Jan.

Yesterday Brian Clarke and I attended the first meeting to start the planning for next year's

The golf committee were very complimentary about our club's involvement and are pleased that we are happy to be involved again this year.  Quite a few changes have been suggested to improve the event.  Brian and I are confident the changes will make our job easier on the day.
