Parting Thought:

Glenda Barratt provided the parting thought at the end of the meeting -

This past weekend I’ve had a great time celebrating Matariki. Joining together with the community. Eating, chatting and celebrating the past year, the present and the future ahead of us. It was particularly lovely standing amongst a group of people at 6am in the freezing wet and muddy field to watch the stars of Matariki forming. This proverb speaks of the way forward.

Ka mahuta a Matariki I te pae. Ka mahuta o tatou tumanako ki te tau.

When Matariki rises above the horizon, our aspirations rise to the year ahead.
