General Notices

*  Lower Hutt Foodbank is looking for someone who can help temporarily.  The job is on Wednesday and Friday mornings at about 9am and involves going to 4 Petone Ave, to Kaibosh (food rescue service) to pick up several boxes of food and bringing them  back to the Foodbank at  27 Dudley Street.  It will take about an hour.  The person who does it at present has taken on a fulltime job until 12 November.  He is still able to do it at the moment, but as he gets busier he will be unable to fit it in so an exact start date is not known at this stage.  It will probably be towards the end of July.  If you are able to help out please talk to President John.

* Taita College Chorus
If anyone would like to contribute towards the costs of the Taita Chorus to go to Nationals, they could deposit funds into the Trust bank account (with Taita College as the reference) and Tony will pass the funds on to the school.

 Sleeps 6 people, 2 Bathrooms, 2 Toilets

Presentation of Usborne Dictionaries
We have recently presented Usborne ILLUSTRATED dictionaries to year 4 students at the following schools -  Pomare, St Michaels and Naenae. Robin will present to Taita Central students early in the new term.  I emphasize Illustrated as these books are more like an Encyclopaedia than a Dictionary.  This is our 15th year of this project and we are told that teachers and students find these just as useful and enjoyable as they did in 2009.

Parting Thought
Colin Fenton provided the parting thought at the end of the evening -
"It is not what one is gathering but what one is scattering.
That tells what kind of a life one is living" Anon
