Last weekend a group from our club took part in our annual Hutt City river bank cleanup. Despite the strong wind challenges and the Hutt Valley annual marathon adding some interest we managed to clear between the Melling bridge and the Ava railway bridge. The rubbish collected included everything from small pieces of paper to a partially buried suitcase. We finished with a very social morning tea which included sausage rolls, small meat pies, buttered loaf, muffins and cake. It was another successful river bank cleanup and thanks go to all who were able to come and help. |
