History of Robert Orr House
 
Last meeting we had a fantastic presentation from Claire Rumble and Jude Dods about the historic Robert Orr House in Kings Crescent, Lower Hutt.  Jude is the grand-daughter of the original owner, Robert Orr, and is the current co-owner of the house with her brother.  Claire is Jude’s cousin, and delivered the presentation, entitled “History of Robert Orr House”, with Jude adding detail, and answering questions from members.

Oh my gosh, wasn’t it a great talk from Claire Rumble and her cousin Judith Dods at our last meeting? We really have some beautiful historic places in Lower Hutt that are well worth visiting. Perhaps we could have a think about hosting an event there at some time. I’m sure you will all love it as much as I do.

Pathology - not for the squeamish

Cynric has also written 3 books - The Cause of Death, The Quick and The Dead and The Perfect Murder and all of the proceeds go towards The Grassroots Rescue Helicopter.  From the sales of these books, he has contributed $104,000.00 the rescue helecopter. The books will be on sale on the night.

* The roster can change weekly with absences etc so please check the roster each week to see if you have a duty.

If you are going to be absent from Rotary for any length of time please let Jan know so she does not put you on the roster while you are away.
 
* Anzac Day Commemoration
 
Please note President Glenda intends to hold a small commemorative service on Monday 20 April. 

"My plan is we meet at an earlier time, say 5.15pm on the 20th, ready to start at 5.30pm.  James has kindly agreed to lead the service for us.  I encourage you to wear any medals you may have to lend importance to the meaning of the Anzac commemoration.  Our normal meeting will start close to 6pm or shortly thereafter".
